(link to his website ⇾) John Green is an American novelist, who The New York Times has described other books as "Greenlit" and book bloggers call the boost in sales from something seemingly trivial like a random social media endorsement "The John Green Effect".
He has written multiple books. His best known work is probably The Fault in Our Stars, which was published in 2012 and was turned into a movie in 2014 starring Shaliene Woodly and Ansel Elgort.
His debut novel was Looking for Alaska(2005), the film rights were bought by Paramount and they hired Josh Schwartz to write and direct the movie. Besides a screenplay, no progress has been made on the movie.
His second novel An Abundance of Katherines was published in 2006. Green collaborated with two fellow young adult authors, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle, for the novel Let It Snow: Three Holiday Romances(2008).
Also, published in 2008 was Green's third novel Paper Towns. Paper Towns was made into a 2015 film.
Green once again collaborated with another young adult writer and friend David Levithan to write Will Grayson, Will Grayson, which was published in 2010.
In 2009 Green announced that he was working on a new book named The Sequel, which never made it on its own and was discarded, but was reworked into his fourth novel the highly acclaimed The Fault in Our Stars.
Green announced in 2013 that he was working a new book named The Racket. He raised money for the Project for Awesome charity event by selling 5,000 words of the rough draft. He later announced that he was not working on The Racket, but another work with a different title.
His latest and fifth solo novel was titled Turtles All the Way Down, which was published in 2017. Green announced in 2017 that Fox and Temple Hill Productions was working on the film adaption. In 2018 Green confirmed that the film adaption would be written by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.
John Green has won many awards including the following:

Besides Green's immaculate presence in the book universe, he has also done many other projects. He has done many things including the following:
- Crash Course(a project on YouTube that he and his brother created with the intention to further educate teens and children.)
- VlogBrothers(a project where John and his brother dropped all communication with each other. Instead, they sent vlogs to each other and uploaded the information on to YouTube and their own website where they reached an extensive audience. their are many other project that have sprouted from this project.)
- VidCon(an annual video conference for the online community.)
- Project for Awesome(a charity project where the Greens and other online personalities spend usually two days creating videos to promote charities and non-profit organizations.)
- Mental Floss(a magazine that Green is the frontman for their YouTube channel.)
- Dear Hank & John(a weekly podcast that the Green brothers created and host.)
- The Anthropocene Reviewed(a solo podcast where Green reviews things and their current existence to the anthropocene, the scientific epoch that includes human influence.)
He is married to Sarah Urist Green they have two sons together, and as mentioned above he has a brother, Hank Green.
